Minnesota Housing is committed to providing meaningful access to its programs and services to all Minnesotans. In some cases, the people who most need the information provided on our website may have limited English proficiency, meaning they have limited ability to speak, read, write or understand English.
For this reason, Minnesota Housing is providing translated content on the pages that most pertain to the general public in the top three languages Minnesotans use besides English: Spanish, Somali and Hmong. The translated pages include:

Minnesota Housing will continue to translate the content that is most useful to the general public, such as resources for individuals seeking immediate help with housing challenges, or people who are interested in using one of Minnesota Housing’s homeownership loan programs.
We will translate vital documents that are critical to allow Minnesotans to access or participate in Agency programs, such as applications, consent forms and eligibility letters.
About Minnesota Housing's Language Access Plan
This fall, Minnesota Housing adopted a Language Access Plan to ensure that limited-English proficient Minnesotans are provided with meaningful access to Minnesota Housing’s programs and offerings.
For example, the Homeownership Programs webpage is a starting point for those interested in securing first-time homebuyer loans, which can include downpayment and closing cost assistance. We want to be sure all eligible homebuyers have access to this information about our loans.
Another important webpage for the public is Find Housing Help, which includes resources available to people at risk of homelessness or in need of rental housing. While Minnesota Housing doesn’t provide direct services to individuals, we maintain a list of links to resources. Services such as rent and mortgage payment assistance can be the determining factor that keeps individuals and families in their homes during times of crisis. For this reason, it is critical that our resource list be accessible to everyone.
To ensure the translations effectively communicate vital information, Minnesota Housing contracts with vendors who are native speakers in the target languages.
These vendors go above and beyond computer-generated translation (including the publicly available Google Translate). This ensures the translators understand specialized terms and concepts and have cultural sensitivity to the destination language.
