Indigenous,Black, People of Color and Women Owned Business Developments for Owner-Occupied Housing Dashboard

Since first collecting this data during the 2020 RFP, nearly half (48%) or more of the annual selected applicants for owner-occupied housing developments were owned or run by a woman or a person who is Indigenous, Black or of color. This included 22 of the 30 selected developments during the 2024 RFP.

Increasing the number of businesses owned or run by a woman or someone who is Indigenous, Black, or a person of color in housing developments ensures that a diverse range of companies and organizations benefit from the housing economy that Minnesota Housing helps finance.

Applicants to Minnesota Housing’s Consolidated Request for Proposal (RFP) for owner-occupied housing receive points in the selection process if the organization is owned or run by a woman or someone who is Indigenous, Black or a person of color. This metric captures the number and share of selected developments that received points for this criterion.

Applicants for owner-occupied development funding include cities, Tribal Nations, Tribal housing corporations, developers, nonprofit organizations and school districts or charter schools.
