Since 2020, seven manufactured home communities have closed in Minnesota. In 2024, one community closed.

Manufactured home communities provide affordable opportunities for Minnesotans to own homes while renting the land from community owners. However, manufactured home communities do not always have adequate road and utility infrastructure and community owners may choose to sell the land for development, placing residents at risk of displacement. 

This metric captures annual number of manufactured home communities closing as reported to Minnesota Housing by community owners. Minnesota statues section 327C.095 requires that all manufactured home community owners provide notice of community closure to Minnesota Housing at least 12 months prior to closure.
